Author and historian sharing the powerful, little-known history of women in the military through the WWII journey of her mother and the Women’s Army Corps.

The Journey of Mollie’s War brings to life the history of women in the military—from the earliest days of our nation, when women disguised themselves as men to serve, to the groundbreaking achievements of the Women’s Army Corps in WWII. Author and historian Cyndee traces the footsteps of her mother and the WACs as they followed U.S. troops across Europe—from London to Normandy, Paris, Versailles, and finally Frankfurt with the Army of Occupation. Drawing from her mother’s wartime letters, photos, and memorabilia, Cyndee offers an intimate, romantic, and at times harrowing glimpse into the life of a woman in uniform during a pivotal moment in history. She also shares her own journey of researching and writing the memoir, from uncovering the stories of the WACs to finding a traditional publisher. Her presentation includes a PowerPoint of archival images and a 9-minute 1944 WAC recruiting film.
