Performance Description:  The struggles of women have been present down through the ages and do not belong to just one segment of the population. Gwen’s costumed interpretations of the portrayals give a snapshot of the struggles and challenges of African American women and their eventual victories. In drawing on her degrees in sociology and drama, Gwen blends her storytelling and theatrical skills as she recounts details of the bravery of these women to keep their stories alive.

Pauli Murray was a civil rights and women's rights activist before any movement advocated for either - the brilliant mind that, in 1944, conceptualized the arguments that would win Brown v. Board of Education; and in 1964, the arguments that won women equality in the workplace.
